A Day on Set is a Good Day Indeed
Looking back on that unforgettable day in 2021, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia. It was a day filled with creativity, collaboration, and storytelling—the kind of day that reminds me why I love what I do. Media Engage LLC had the incredible opportunity to create content for The Forum, a game-changing development set to transform Acadiana. It was our job to capture the vision, energy, and excitement behind this ambitious project and share it with the community.
Setting the Stage
The shoot was a dynamic, multi-location production across Acadiana. We started at the original Sneaker Politics Store, a place that feels like the heartbeat of Lafayette culture, before moving to their private sound stage. Both locations provided rich textures and backdrops that added depth and authenticity to the story we were telling. The campaign’s goal was clear: showcase The Forum’s innovative site plans and let the visionaries behind the project speak directly to the audience.
The Dream Team
Producing and directing this project was a privilege. As Chief Media Officer of Media Engage, I, Tom Rosario, led the charge alongside some of the most talented creatives I’ve ever worked with. Matt Valentin, our Director of Photography, brought his unparalleled eye for detail to every frame. Jeremy Gegenheimer, the master of sound, ensured that every word spoken was crisp and clear. Sabrina Long was our ever-reliable grip, always ready to make adjustments on the fly. Erica Curtis, our set photographer, captured the magic behind the scenes with her incredible talent for storytelling through still images.
And of course, the stars of the day were Derek Curry, Alex Luna, and Terry Crochet. These visionaries shared their passion and insight with authenticity and enthusiasm, making our job of capturing their stories not only easy but deeply inspiring.
Creating the Hype
The content we created wasn’t just about a development—it was about a vision. The Forum promised to be more than just a commercial space; it was a meeting place, a hub for culture, and a spark for community growth. Our task was to translate that vision into a compelling narrative, and we did so by letting the project’s champions speak from the heart. Through interviews, sweeping visuals, and dynamic storytelling, we built the kind of “hype” that made people lean in and take notice.
The content culminated in a live press release held at the LITE Center. The event, packed with local press, industry leaders, and community members, was electric. Seeing our work debuted on the big screen in front of such an engaged audience was a moment I’ll never forget. The Forum’s announcement, as covered by Adam Daigle, marked the beginning of something special for Acadiana.
Reflecting on the Experience
As I think back to that day, I’m struck by how much of what we do at Media Engage is rooted in community. We don’t just create content; we tell stories that matter, stories that inspire action and celebrate innovation. Working on The Forum’s campaign was a reminder of the power of collaboration and the importance of visionaries like Derek Curry who dare to dream big.
Looking Ahead
While I’m nostalgic for that day on set, I’m equally excited about what’s next. Media Engage is committed to creating content ecosystems that elevate communities and amplify the voices of those who make a difference. Days like the one we spent filming for The Forum remind me why this work is so meaningful. It’s not just about the projects—it’s about the people, the stories, and the impact.
Here’s to more days on set, more incredible collaborations, and more opportunities to tell the stories that shape our world.
